I’ve created an Elementor template for my journal entries where I could accomplish a number of things.
- Quickly record a location, showing a map and the day I visited.
- If I wanted, I also could record the date I left (like for a campsite), the cost of whatever was at the location, and a link to an appropriate website.
- I also wanted to be able to NOT have the map appear if I was journaling something that was not necessarily relevant to the journal entry
- I wanted to record the date I posted the entry at the bottom of the page, along with any Categories or Tags that are included in the post.
- I also wanted to be able to post items within a journal entry that only I can see – this is accomplished with Dynamic Content from Crocoblocks.
Elementor and Beyond
I’ve become a huge fan of Elementor for building websites, but I haven’t done too much blogging with Elementor. I’ve always used the native WordPress Classic Editor.
Of course, I’ve set up my Travel Journal so that I can use either.
Here’s a few items that I intend to be including in my Journal Entries.
