Near Livermore, CO is Larimer County’s Eagles Nest Open Space. Through the years, I have driven by the sign pointing down a dirt road and have always meant to go check it out. Finally, this week, I did. I was not disappointed at all.
The open space features over five miles of trails, through rolling hills and wide-open spaces. With all of the rain this year, the grass and plants are a lush green. While I did not hike all of the trails, I did hike down to the Cache La Poudre River.
Here are a few of the pictures from this great little hike. Click anywhere for a slideshow of the images.
I did get one little surprise at the end of the hike. A small herd of cattle was hanging out near the trail. Most of the herd was just laying around, enjoying life. However, one rather tough bull was standing and staring me down. He never let me out of his sight.
