In the Sonoran Desert National Monument, I've experienced a mix of serenity and excitement, from visiting a stunning Hindu temple to exploring a dwarf car museum and sunsets!

After hanging out in the Ironwood Forest National Monument and not touristing very much, I decided it was time to head into Tucson and needed southwestern art fix.

Believe it or not, there are castle ruins in Missouri! It was built in 1905 and destroyed by fire in 1942. After wandering the ruins, I also checked out a sizable natural land bridge.

When something is called the Bloodiest 40 Acres in America, you know that I'll have to check it out. MSP must have been a truly brutal and inhuman place for so many decades.

Having a few weeks with my friends Mark and Kate was spectacular, with trips to New York City and crash courses on modern and contemporary art from a successful artist.
The historic Old County Courthouse in Ontonagon is a charming red brick building with green vines climbing its walls, surrounded by lush trees and grass. A stone monument with a plaque stands on the right. The scene is peaceful and verdant, with a cloudy sky visible through the leaves.
As I headed to the Lakeshore Park from the Ontonagon Lighthouse, I drove past this old brick building covered with Ivy and had to stop to explore and take some photographs.

Split Rock Lighthouse is one of the most photographed lighthouses in the world, and I was excited to learn more about this iconic structure and its impact on Lake Superior.

After filling up at Pep's Bakery, I decided to wander around the town of Virginia, Minnesota, to see if I could discover anything interesting or photo-worthy.

I love wandering into beautiful buildings to see what's inside. Occasionally, you find pretty amazing art and architecture inside old courthouses scattered across the country. That's good.

After getting some work done for a couple of days at Flandreau City Park, I headed into Flandreau and found this beautiful church tucked at the edge of town.

Found a great city park right on the bank of the Big Sioux River. It was a great place to get some work done, and explore a little South Dakota town.

Driving through Sioux Falls, I had to stop and see the waterfalls and park. Plus, the park has a multi-story observation tower that provides a panoramic view of the falls and city.

In the tiny town of Tabor, SD, stands a magnificent Gothic Revival architectural style church built by Czech immigrants in late 19th century. I love finding unexpected treasures.

Wilbur is one of the many small towns I've rolled into, and I wish I had more time to explore it. However, having a few minutes to walk around was still cool and interesting.
