I needed a place to stay as I drove Northwood toward Poulsbo, Washington. This place sounded great because it had a lake, but it was a bit too close to the highway for my tastes.

After a decision to start heading toward Washington to visit a friend on the Kitsap Peninsula, I thought I would spend at least a few days here exploring, but decided not to.

As I drove past the city limits of Carlsbad, my check engine light came on. I found some free BLM land for camping while I waited for parts for my Jeep.
Found an awesome RV Park just outside Roswell, NM, to stay at while I explored the funky, cool town of Roswell and hoped to be abducted by aliens! (Sadly, it didn't happen)
After time in the mountains at my Mom's, I headed to Longmont to do some final preparations and shopping, and more importantly, to see my sons one more time.
With a successful first leg of my adventure, I returned to Colorado to spend the Thanksgiving holiday at my Mom's house in the mountains and spend some time off the road.
Staying at this state park is the most convenient location for seeing my sons in Longmont and Boulder. Plus I managed to get a great site right on one of the ponds.
Needed a place for a night to stop and work on my way back to see family. KOA are usually a little on the pricy side, but they always have showers and electricity
