Flint Hills Historical Marker

Visited on: Monday, October 9, 2023
Cost: Free

I’m always impressed with the amount of detail that Kansas Historical Markers provide. One of the signs here has information about Pioneer Bluffs. I didn’t stop at that historical site on this journey, but I probably will on a future trek across the Flint Hills.

Informational sign titled "Home on the Range: Ranching in the Flint Hills" with descriptive text and various images depicting cattle, cowboys, landscapes, and a fire.
Information sign about regional arts in the tallgrass prairie at Flint Hills National Scenic Byway. The sign features descriptions and images of Pioneer Bluffs, Matfield Station, and Tallgrass Artist Residency.
Informational sign about Pioneer Bluffs featuring text, historical images of buildings and people, and a description of the site's history and cultural significance, part of Flint Hills National Scenic Byway.
A rural landscape with sparse trees and rocky terrain under a clear blue sky, with distant structures visible on the horizon.
