Old Schoolhouse – District 3 1909

Visited on: Thursday, November 2, 2023
Cost: Free

Old school buildings often grab my attention. While, I’m not in a position right now to do any restoration or construction work, a building like this might be fun to restore.

A historic, small stone schoolhouse with a gray roof and a simple bell tower stands in an open grassy field under a clear blue sky. An arched metal sign on the left reads "BEN HALL." Surrounding trees add to the serene rural setting.
An abandoned stone room with exposed beam ceiling, featuring old-fashioned circular ceiling lights. The floor is partially collapsed, exposing rubble and debris. Leaning against the back wall are old doors, wooden planks, and a metal ladder. Two boarded windows are on the left wall.
An old building interior with stone walls and exposed ceiling beams. A wooden door with a small glass window is centered. Metal pipes run vertically and horizontally. The floor is littered with debris, including pieces of drywall and wood. Wiring hangs from the ceiling.
