Sometimes, driving long distances like I do means I come across things that I absolutely had no idea existed. The Salt River Canyon, often called the mini-Grand Canyon, is one of those places.

A scenic view of a rugged canyon landscape under a clear blue sky. Rocky cliffs and lush green vegetation cover the steep canyon walls. In the foreground, dry grass and a small cactus are visible. Warm sunlight casts shadows highlighting the texture and depth of the cliffs.

Driving Highway 60 through the Salt Canyon is quite an experience. The road itself is an engineering marvel, with hairpin turns and steep grades that make the journey both thrilling and challenging.

Of course, on this trip, I didn’t have much time to stop and check things out in detail. I only had time for photos. I think this is another one of the places that’s gonna go on my list as a destination to explore in more detail in the future.

A rugged, mountainous landscape under a clear blue sky. The terrain features rocky cliffs and sparse vegetation, with a mix of trees and shrubs in the foreground. Sunlight casts shadows, highlighting the ridges and valleys of the terrain.

It always makes me sad and pissed off whenever I wander these beautiful landscapes and find that some fuck nut had to deface things. Some people suck.

A landscape of arid mountains under a clear blue sky. The foreground features desert vegetation, rocks, and boulders with graffiti. The middle ground displays rugged, layered cliffs with a mix of green sagebrush and brown earth tones. Sunlight casts sharp shadows across the scene.
