While visiting Besh-Ba-Gowah, I was chatting with the young lady in the gift shop and ask her to recommend a good Mexican restaurant in Globe. I'm happy she sent me to Miami!

With only one night in New Mexico, I had to get something with green chilis. The local chain, Blake's, was just the thing to get a burger covered with delicious hatch green chilies.

After visiting the Judy Garland museum, I was definitely hungry and needed some Mexican food. This place was in a strip mall nearby and mostly filled the bill.

Established about 1876 as the Bucher Saloon, Glur's Tavern is the oldest continuously operated tavern west of the Missouri River and I had to go and give it a try.

After the battling the wind for a couple of hours, I was so ready to find shelter. A local Mexican joint absolutely filled the need for food and a wind-free environment.

Stopped in a popular local café to grab a quick breakfast after leaving Kofa National Wildlife Refuge. After nothing but my cooking it was pretty dang good.
Nestled in Stillwater, the single-story Slim Chickens restaurant boasts a metal roof and large windows. The iconic logo shines brightly above, while empty outdoor seating basks under a clear OK sky. Trees surround the building, and fallen leaves pepper the ground on this sunny day.
Sometimes, you just need some chicken tenders. As I was driving through Stillwater, I saw this restaurant and knew I was gonna have to give this a try. I was not disappointed.

Oh my! I was craving some BBQ, especially as I was so close to Kansas City (my favorite BBQ place on earth), when I discovered a gem of a restaurant in Lawrence, Kansas.
