Mountain Quail Café and Quartzsite, Arizona

I left the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge and headed to Quartzsite to grab some breakfast and gas on my way to my next camping spot. Quartzite is an interesting place. When I say there are tens of thousands of RVs, I am not exaggerating.

The town itself is primarily RV parks that are just huge. I’m not sure if there were even many if any, regular housing developments. Outside of Quartzsite, the BLM has long-term stays for RVers, and it looks like it’s square miles of land where you can pay a monthly fee to stay. There were thousands of RVs and campers out there.

I  grabbed a quick breakfast at a cute little restaurant. It was tasty, exactly what I needed after not having eaten anything other than my own cooking and eating at a couple of fast food restaurants in Yuma, so I have to say I did enjoy it.

You know, a little diner is going to be good when a bunch of the local sheriff officers all show up at the same time. There was one sheriff officer’s car when I arrived at the restaurant. Two more showed up while I was eating and a third while I was leaving.
