You never know what you’ll find when you wander into a small-town museum. The Cass County Museum in Walker was an absolute delight.
The entire collection was well-organized and well-documented. Considering the small space of the building, they did an absolutely spectacular job of providing both historical information and relevant documentation for donors.
The museum includes artifacts from thousands of years ago to almost the present day.
They have an excellent assortment of shoes, clothes, and other handcrafts from the Ojibwa people.
Artifacts from the westward expansion into Minnesota include things from homesteading to life in the region.
A huge number of young men worked in the conservation corpse in the Forest parks and Range lands around Cass County.
The museum also included a well-restored one-room schoolhouse.
