Just a little way down the road from Plainview is the small town of Osmond. It has a great little municipal park, where I decided to set up camp for a couple of days and work.

As I arrived on my birthday, I headed to the one restaurant in town, hoping to get a decent meal. It was closed. Dinner turned out to be a turkey wrap and Ben & Jerry’s Half Baked ice cream from the small local grocery store.

But I got a good selfie with the caboose that sits in the middle of the park.

Here’s the car I often don’t talk about when it comes to staying in old city parks. The bathrooms often leave much to be desired.

A small restroom sink area in Poolside Park, Osmond, NE, features a white sink with a mirror above it and a paper towel dispenser. Below the light-colored walls and countertop sits a green trash bin.
A public restroom stall at Osmond Poolside Park features a toilet with a stained bowl, partially used toilet paper on the roll, and a toilet brush on the floor. The space appears to be unclean.
