Early in the evening, the sky will sometimes drop hints that it will give you a spectacular opportunity to take sunset photos. The wispy clouds and the slightly dusty air hinted at a wide range of colors while the day gave way to the night.
While I was slightly tired from tromping in the hot desert earlier in the day, I didn’t wanna miss this opportunity to catch what might be a spectacular photography opportunity.
Mother Nature did not disappoint.
I love capturing Southwest sunsets. The saguaro, the cholla, and all of the desert plants are often cooperative and provide opportunities to make my photo shine.
One of the things that I wanted to attempt this evening was capturing the white quartz that covers the ground and so many places in the Sonoran Desert National Monument.
Even after the brutal desert has drained life from the hardy cactuses, the remaining skeletons offer their silhouette to be documented as part of the desert’s majesty.
One of the most important rules when taking photography is to remember to turn around and look in the opposite direction because sometimes what you see will blow your mind.
